11,000 Misprinted Lottery Tickets

Lucy Luna bought the ticket, scratched it off -- and discovered that she had won $20,000. But was it too good to be true?

Well, in a word, yes. The Grinch reared his ugly head, smashing Lucy's dreams of Christmas riches when it turned out her ticket wasn't what it seemed to be.

Not nearly.

The problem? It was one of more than 11,000 misprinted tickets. Close to 4,000 of the misprints were activated and sold, and Lucy had the bad luck of buying one.

Lucy's been told the lottery has no plans to pay off on the winning ticket. They offered to give her another lottery ticket worth $3.
