* STEP 2: Avoid the numbers 7 and 11. These are considered lucky numbers and they are the ones that everyone picks.
* STEP 3: Avoid numbers 1 through 31. These numbers are the days of the month and they are also commonly picked.
* STEP 4: Play only when the jackpot is incredibly high.
* STEP 5: Find out what the chances of winning are. For example, if your chances of winning are one in six million and the jackpot is 30 million, it's probably worth it to buy a ticket even though probably you won't win.
